cinematic electronica featuring harp, guitars, and lush vocals

notes

What began as a series of open-ended sessions between two aspiring film composers, swiftly evolved into a full-scale collaboration, resulting in the group 'transit' and the album 'lost angles'. Francis, Bafta nominated composer of electronica and strange sounds, met Marnie, a classically trained harpist/singer/songwriter (check out her debut CD 'Sunday Skies'), at UCLA. He had recently arrived on America's fair shores after departing his homeland of Scotland, and she was fresh-off-the-farm from Boise, Idaho. Together they harnessed their assorted talents, and with a lot of creativity, dexterity, cunning, and a strong work ethic, formed a unique sound.

'lost angles' is: songs with texture, lyrics with meaning, and melodies that conjure. Hard to classify but easy to love, the world of 'transit' awaits you ...

  • I met Francis and he . . .

. . . gave me a copy of his CD. I play it often. I really like it a lot. Francis left the Valley or the states according to someone I talked to. A then close friend of Francis, a drummer whose name I forgot. I saw him a t this bar the other day I went to play pool there. We had a great time . . .

  • a beautiful and strikingly original album
    author: David

This is an outstanding cd! Some of the most inventive electronica I have heard in many years. In a genre whose practitioners are often formula-based imitators or worse, Transit have written and recorded a beautiful and strikingly original album. If you are a fan of Portishead and/or Massive Attack, then you will really love Transit.

  • excellent; a sustained dreamlike atmosphere

A real achievement, with musical subtlety, muscle, creativity and a sustained dreamlike atmosphere. Marnie Boyd has a beautiful voice, and both musicians know how to create moody and moving settings for it. One of the best CDs I've heard in a long time. Nice photography too.
