ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Identical twins Michael and Matthew Polonchak got their musical start at the age of five on the violin.

"It was my idea, I wanted to play the violin, not him" Matthew explains. "But Michael just decided he had to go and play the violin, too. He's always copying off of me".

They played in numerous youth orchestras (at age seven, the youngest in the 35 year history of the Washington D.C. Youth Orchestra), adult orchestras, string quartets, recitals in five states (Duquesne University, Shepherd College), even a professional trio with their father. They each won the MSMTA Violin Competition in consecutive years.

Amid their early success, they found themselves dabbling with guitars and harmonies. The "classical" was just not enough.

"Pretty soon, we were spending more time with our guitars then we were practicing our violins. Our teachers loved us for that"

By age eleven, they had written four songs. By age thirteen, that number tripled.

"Shows were popping up and we decided we needed a name. You know, an actual band name. 'Michael and Matthew' just wasn't cutting it anymore".

"We had a few in the back of our minds, but eventially we decided on Transcendent Third. Lately people have been shortening it to T3".

The actual phrase "Transcendent Third" is a Jungian concept that actually describes how they create their music.

"Imagine two creative forces placed in a room, both equal, both opposite, both working to fuel a tension that ultimately will result in the creation of something completely new that is neither one nor the other, but a transcendent third. Now imagine this process happening with music. We are the creative forces, both equal and opposite. Our music is the product of this. Our music is the Transcendent Third".

They only get better... Unreal
This is the best I ever heard from these guys. They have matured so much in such a short time. These guys are PROS and have a fantastic future ahead in music. I am sure they will soon be a household word. What incredible talent. I wish them the best that can be wished! I rarely get hooked on a CD, but this one... I'm wearing it out!

One of my favorite CD's, hands down.
I ADORE this CD... they did a show here in Hagerstown that my friend Sam went to, and he purchased their CD. After I heard it, I was so mad I missed the show... COME BACK SOON GUYS!

amazing
The Feeling, Transcendent Thirds second CD, has proved to be everything we've all been waiting for. With their trademark blend of classical instruments and the more "mainstream" bass and guitar, each song holds its own unique style. Ten tracks of original writing and composing makes this CD definitely worth a listen AND your money. If you don't, you're missing out, this is the CD you want. :)

AWESOME!!!!
WOW! You guys are good. It's awesome that you can play the violin and guitar. Your music is awesome. I hope I can make it to more of your shows.

astounding
Every track on the CD showcases an amazing ability to blend classical elements of music with more typical fare of today . The lyrics themselves fit the music perfectly and while they fit under the category "emo" manage to stay away from cliched thoughts. This CD is worth buying, without a doubt.

finally!
As I, and other "junkies," have been waiting for this CD for about eons... it's great to finally have it blaring in my computer. I already have most of the lyrics memorized (having listened to it through once). Thanks guys!

Amazing is the only word to describe it
This CD is Amzazing!! I love the songs, Even my friends who have never heard of T3 have said that it's amzaing and are going to but their own CD so that they can listen to it all the time too. The only problem with this CD is that it took soooo long for it to come out! But it was definantly worth the wait!!!
