Album Notes

Born and raised in a sleepy midwestern town during the 60\'s, I started playing guitar around the age of 8. It was a beat-up acoustic that I bought for 12 bucks. I had no idea what a good guitar looked like but I was determined and played that thing until my fingers bled. I remember the strings being about an inch off the fretboard. I graduated to an electric guitar soon after and took some lessons. Formed my 1st band at the age of 12 and started playing high school dances around age 14.

By the time I was in my early 20s, my ears were ringing so bad I left the band to pursue a troubadour lifestyle and got inspired by Jim Croce, Jimmy Buffett, Jesse Winchester, etc... moved to South Florida and was there for many moons playing from Key West to St. Augustine. Started another band doing New Wave & Retro 60s and original stuff. We nearly got signed but various events caused the band to disintegrate. The White Owls (www.thewhiteowls.com) eventually reformed and continued for many years doing parties and festivals throughout South Florida.

Since 2005, as a soloist and with my band Northern Star, I have been performing all around Michigan USA. My style is a melting pot of various genres that reference motown, blues, 60s music, island music and folk : psychedelic island mo-folk blues.

There are some great musicians sitting in on several tunes:
Jerry Krause plays Keys on Chasing the Sky and Bass on Talk To Me Lady;
Mike Willemin plays drums and percussion on Chasing the Sky and Talk To Me Lady;
Doug Gluckin plays Saxophone on Talk To Me Lady and Flute on Mother Nature\'s Wine and Going My Way;
Patrick Dawdy plays rhythm guitar on Mother Nature\'s Wine and Going My Way and and sings harmony on Going My Way;
Pat Malloy plays lead guitar on Going My Way;
Rush & Julie Clement sing harmonies on You Ain\'t Going Nowhere.

There are 10 songs: 6 original songs and 4 covers. The covered tunes are: Into the Mystic by Van Morrison, You Ain\'t Goin Nowhere by Bob Dylan, Tin Cup Chalice by Jimmy Buffett, and Sitting, Waiting, Wishing by Jack Johnson.

I\'m glad we found this CD. We used to hear Peter and his band in South Florida and always loved his music. He\'s got that tropical sound that I need to hear as often as possible. This Cd is a great mix of songs that fits in my collection perfect. I think this is one of his best.
