Album Notes

Critical acclaim for Trapper’s music:

"It's like REAL music! A level of sophistication totally unanticipated by the listener!"

“Good thing music is a renewable resource.”

"A great example of the dig-a-hole-and-see-if-you-hit-pay-dirt school of songwriting."

"Trapper is firing on both cylinders with this one!"

"If Trapper was French, these songs would be German."

“It sounds like you wrote a lot of these songs while you were living outside and hungry.”

“Let’s just say that say that it exceeded my expectations.”

Trapper is an experienced and accomplished multi-instrumentalist who somehow manages to consistently craft freshly layered songs that are both approachable and unpredictable. The “Long On Vision” album moves seamlessly across genres including elements of psychedelic rock, pop, jazz, grunge, and folk. And through it all, there is a thread of subtle ironic urgency that keeps the music alive and possibly even relevant.

Wow. That sounded pretty professional, right? It’s even in 3rd person, just as if it was written by an objective reviewer or maybe a high-powered agent, someone who also handles some other very famous artists you have definitely heard of (though we can’t mention them here for legal contractual reasons).

You build bridge.
Bridge fall down.
No partial credit.

Fortunately, unlike bridges, you CAN get partial credit in music. In fact, I’m counting on it.

No, music is not like building bridges. It’s more like tracking a mythical unseen force that waits quietly in the cold dark forest, luring you ever farther into hostile terrain with the soft siren promise of tasty licks, gravelly grooves, and wistfully poignant lyrics.

Ok, ok. Music is nothing like that either. Kind of got carried away there. But maybe you get an inkling about what this is all about. If so, that’s pretty impressive. (If not, don’t worry – you’re still up to speed.)

To boldly go where fools rush in…
