A trippy groove-filled post modern sideswipe. Everything about this collection bends and slides you towards a deeply frivolous seduction. Another dramatic stride on the path towards wherever it is Trapper is ultimately heading.
Prog rock backbeat, jazz-marked fusionality, heartfelt acid folk ballads, drippy layered vocals, trancy electronic flirtations, hapless lyricality, compulsive rhythms, acoustic air, emotional honesty, serious boundary issues.
Reviews:
“Intergalactic Funk laced with Cosmic Consciousness”
“They say that music can change the world. Let’s hope that’s not the case.”
“Mr. Shua ties the whole album together.”
“Hey – what kind of music is this anyway?”
“Hard to believe all of this is intentional.”
“Glad you got this done before the Rapture.”
Lyric Excerpts:
“Standing in a forest, snow is coming down
Cover up my footprints, cover up the sound
Halfway in the bottle & halfway in the ground
Please don’t try to save me”
- from Standing In The Forest
“And even if I knew the way
to blur that pounding in my chest
to drain those thoughts that keep me thin
to halt the traffic in my corner
Even if I, Even if I...”
- from The Passenger
“I used to think that life was love
But love is never by herself
And love with you was not enough
To keep the world from catching up.”
- from The Passenger
“I think that he’s a genius.
I think that he’s a moron.
I think he’s going to flush us down the drain to our graves.”
- from Dear Mr. Shua
“I don’t know how we could be so lucky
to find ourselves holding a second chance.”
- from Boat Goes Down (Chance Mix)

Delectable

My family happily owns and has regularly listened to all five of Trapper's CDs. After the previous 5 successes, surely the pressure mounts to continue creating high quality auditory artistry. "Boat Goes Down" has not disappointed! We relish the days ahead to have this musical cornucopia added to regular rotation of music.

Bought the download last week. Good stuff. Trapper obviously cares about his craft and has put a lot of heart into this album. Time to play it again...

Profound

I own all of Trapper's albums, and I still don't get it. But I hope that in time I will be able to at least catch a glimmer of the epic scale of his work. Meanwhile, I just listen to the hidden messages in order to follow their instructions. Staggering.
