Mystery Tramp Records is proud to announce the release of Travis of Mystery Tramp's "The Ocean is a Woman" CD. His genuine boat music was inspired by the people, places and adventures of our shakedown cruise from San Francisco to Mexico aboard our self-built sailboat, Mystery Tramp.

Travis will have you sipping cervezas and humming along as he takes you south of the border with his fresh blend of cruiser country rock served with a dose of sea salt and a squeeze of lime.

In the storytelling spirit of Jimmy Buffet, Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, Willie Nelson, and Jerry Jeff Walker, he began writing about the people he met and his impressions of the cruising life. Travis's songs will rock you to ask for second cerveza and take you to a place you want to go where the margaritas flow. He will also soothe you soul like the ocean and make you laugh, then other times inspire you to chase your dream. Travis of Mystery Tramp's "The Ocean is a Woman" CD offers something for every sailor on the sea or in the armchair, the offshore fisherman and parrot head, as well as people who love Mexico or are simply dreamers.

Unique amongst nautical oriented music CDs "The Ocean is a Woman" CD includes "A Visual Voyage by Emily". "A Visual Voyage" is a collection of images in a digital photographic slideshow format vividly depicting the story of what a cruisers life is like.

A California native, Travis was previously a structural iron worker. Leaving the high rises for the high seas he traveled from Alaska to Costa Rica in continuous search of adventure. Along the way he met a cruiser who had built a steel sailboat. Inspired to do the same, Travis returned to California, where he met his wandering mermaid, photographer and writer, Emily. Together they completed their 44' steel cutter, Mystery Tramp and set sail for Baja and the Sea of Cortez.

Travis has performed at the wildly successful 2002 and 2003 Loreto Fest in Puerto Escondido (Loreto area), Baja; at Club Paradiso in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexcio; Paradise Found in La Paz, Baja; plus at the "Gypsies in the Palace" Jimmy Buffett pre-party at the Key Largo in Las Vegas; and at the Jimmy Buffet party in Mountain View, California; as well as numerous beaches.

Travis is currently sailing the sea, making music wherever he goes and fishing to his heart's content.

    This CD is a refreshing change from your typical 'parrot head' music. Travis has a great voice and is an equally great song writer. These songs are now permanently stored on my boat's MP3 player!

    this cd reminds me of baja days and nights as seen through an artist on the same level as jimmy buffett . buffett sings about key west but travis sings and feels baja . i was told about mystery tramp by a life guard from san diego on a flight to hawaii . i thank him for the introduction to this cd . mahalo
