9 Year Old Gospel Recording Artist

Travis Finlay

Travis has been singing long before he learnt how to talk. Inspired by the Lord Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, Travis had his first public performance at the age of 3 when he sang and ministered to the congregation of the Caribbean Baptist Church, (ChristWay Baptist Church) in Miramar, Florida. His ministry however is more than just singing. He believes that every Christian should be a witness for the Lord and should spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Travis is an active member of the Evangelism Team at his home church, where he goes out into the community, knocking on doors and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. His enthusiasm and passion for the Word is evident: when he speaks, people listen; when he sings, people are moved.

Travis enjoys all types of Gospel music, which he calls "Jesus Music". Whether it is traditional hymns or contemporary gospel, he loves to sing and dance to the various rhythms especially the reggae beat. Travis continues his music ministry and has even sung with Gospel Great, Claudelle Clarke who has been his mentor. He has also sung with Carlene Davis and Candi Staton. One of the first professionals to recognize his talent was International Gospel Recording Artist, Hopeton Lewis.

Travis celebrated his 9th Birthday on April 8th, 2003 and has now completed his first Gospel CD entitled, "Jesus = Love" which is now available in selected stores. This project was a team effort by Tony Hutton, Dennis Haynes, Claudelle Clarke and his mother Wendy Finlay.

Travis is the Grandson of Lloyd Finlay, the Owner and Founder of Finlay's Ship to the Caribbean, a family owned and operated Freight and Shipping Company based in Miami, Florida.
