Album Notes

When Jack Endino (producer of Nirvana, Soundgarden, etc.) sat down to master this album for us, he called our music "grunge," so I guess that's what we are. Fuck it, why not? We are from Seattle....

Trepan is a four piece band with male vocals, drawing comparisons to Queens of the Stoneage and the Rye Coalition. Laid down on top of music that makes drivers go faster, Kevin's vocals conjure up images of expensive things being pulverized - not skinny boys whining.

We do have heart too, though, you know; we've done benefit shows for homeless youth and K-Records. With our attention-demanding stage presence and solid live performances, we are charming audiences and winning over new fans with each and every appearance.

Who we are:
Troy Lund - Drums
Kevin Schumacher-Vocals,Guitar
Erik Chelstad - Guitar
Brent Powell - Bass

Let the music do the talking
author: Paddy Leitsch www.PaddyL.com
I never really wondered what it would sound like if Kurt Cobain, Jerry Cantrell, and Nash Kato were blended with the highest grade of caffeine and administered like a spinal tap. But after listening to Trepan, I now wonder why the hell I never did!!! (Alright guys, I know you probably have different influences way beyond those that I mentioned, but for the common person, that is how I can best sum it up.) If you want some (and yes…yes, you do) powerhouse pummeling by the grandmasters of grunge, get ready to be karate drilled with the distilled metal zone DOD and Citgo black coffee buzz contained herein. This album makes me wanna hook up with these guys, hunt down Blink 182 and carve ‘em into bongs. The lyrics actually sound like things that the writer(s) know(s) about and deliver them in a totally uncontrived manner. I know I hated grunge at the tail end of the tattered flannel flag flying, but this group goes above and beyond the hype of the unskilled wannabe Gen Xers. These dudes can fucking play!! And no pictorial layouts of goateed gap employees trying to seize your mind with their cryptic hardcore stare. The best band image is to let the music do the talking. Great work, Trepan!! I am glad someone gets it!!!

Grunge from Seattle
author: Funprox, Netherlands
Trepan offers us heavy rock with a pinch of grunge, a piece of stonerrock and a little classic hardrock. Singer Kevin is the most expressive element in the band, shouting at times in an Alice in Chains/Soundgarden-manner. 'Leg (show me)' has a healthy dose of 70's bluesrock. 'Hive' is somewhat heavier, with a less accessible structure, somewhere between Kyuss and Tool. The boogierock of 'One night stand' calls to mind AC/DC.
