Album Notes
"This may be the best blues album out of the Canadian capital city..." BLUES ON STAGE- USA

“Absolute Raw Energy” - Drum Media, AUS

When Trevor Finlay stepped onto the stage of The Rutledge in Nashville in the fall of 2008, it felt like home. Maybe that’s because it was home -- the industry showcase marked the culmination of a musical journey that began in Canada over 10 years ago, and eventually brought Trevor to Music City to further pursue his career as a touring performer and songwriter.

It was a natural learning curve for the multi-talented musician, who’s been playing guitar since he was nine, and first began performing in clubs while he was still a teenager. Born in Winnipeg, Canada, Trevor grew up listening to the work of Muddy Waters, the Rolling Stones, Albert Collins, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, Brian Setzer and Buddy Guy. He paid his dues north of the border, and through steady touring, club gigs and annual appearances at respected events like the Ottawa Blues Festival and the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the young country blues/rocker built a powerful fan following and enviable radio airplay. Momentum was further fueled by Trevor’s numerous nominations and awards, media attention and critical recognition from Billboard, Real Blues, and the Toronto Blues Society, among others.

Sandwiched in between were four CDs that he recorded and released independently: Morning Man (1998), Bumpy Roads (2001), the all-acoustic Home Tonight (2003), and Show Me What U Got (2005).

It was inevitable that Trevor would eventually find his way to Nashville. His eclectic, stir-fried mix of guitar-driven country blues/rock and rockabilly created a natural fusion with Southern rock, gospel and contemporary country influences introduced to him by working with such collaborators as Walt Aldridge, Lisa Carver, Ray Barnette, and Bruce Wallace.

Touring in the U.S. and abroad remains a mainstay of Trevor’s musical popularity. Over the course of his career, he’s shared the stage with everyone from John Hiatt , James Brown and Booker T and the MG’s to Kid Rock , Kanye West and Chris Isaac , as well as Johnny Winter and Buddy Guy . Trevor spent seven weeks on tour in Australia in 2007, earning an endorsement for a VioLap, a unique lap steel guitar created and produced by Cole Clark Guitars.

Now, with his move to Nashville and an influx of new dimensions to his songwriting, Trevor is looking forward to recording his fifth CD sometime in 2009.

I really enjoyed it
Another vote of thanks to Bob Harris over here in the UK - just hearing a snippet of Be Bop a Lula was enough for me to track down and buy this CD - and it has not disappointed. I will certainly keep an eye out for further releases from Mr Finlay.

Excellent album with some great guitar and vocals
This is a great CD by a band that is totally new to me. All the tracks are excellent, but my favourite is Be-Bop-a-lula. My thanks to DJ Bob HArris for playing this in the UK, and cdbaby for shipping it so efficiently.

Trevor Finlay may not take over the radio waves, but he is definitely one of the most talented musicians I've heard in a while. His songs are kept fun and it's a joy to just drive around listening to them or to play it while hanging out with friends. I look forward to more great releases from this artist.

Trevor Finlay is a Tremendous Talent !!!
This is simply some great music that will brighten-up your life. Good songs, musicianship, and the boy got some pipes. A lot of high-energy fun from a guy that knows how to write and perform a song. And it always a treat when a musician can really exploit a cover like Trevor's renditions of Bebopalula and Kiss - I love them both. Do yourself a favor, pick-up a copy of this one, stuff like this just doesn't come out that often. I thank you Mr. Finlay and wish you all the best. You certainly put a smile on my face.

Absolutely brilliant
Absolutely brilliant. I am one of the 'old' school' bluesmen but this album does it for me. "Lets Get Drunk" says it all. Every self respecting blues fan should have a Trevor Finlay album in their collection
