ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tri Axx is a power trio, no vocals the guitar is the vocal line, based out of Los Angeles, California. The guys come from NYC, and Los Angeles, and grew up seeing Twisted Sister, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Scorpions, Van Halen, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, UFO, Rush, The Stones, Jethro Tull, Yes, ELP, as well as many others, in places like Madison Square Garden, and The Great Forum in Los Angeles, so their influences are classic and legendary. Their inspirations is awe inspiring and touches you deeply in your heart. And it feeds the desire to rock your asses off and to be creative and powerful.

Tri Axx also enjoyed the scene in Hollywood on the world famous Sunset Strip, which included iconic and legendary venues as The Whiskey, The Roxy, Gazzari's, The Rainbow Bar & Grill, and The Troubador, the club that unceremoniously threw out a drunken John Lennon back in the day. So many of the greatest and most famous rockers rocked these clubs, and so many became famous, such as Ratt, Motley Crue, Dokken, WASP, Warrant, Poison, and many other great bands and musicians. And Tri Axx was there and were influenced by the fertile and creative rock scene of the times.

Evan would like to thank the great Michael James for his time, and awesome effort in being such a great producer, and doing such a great job mixing our CD for us. I feel incredibly blessed to have such a talented, knowledgeable, experienced Producer on our side making the music sound so full and rich. And to boot he's a nice guy, and I’m proud to call him my friend too.

Michael James, along with Rob Chiarelli started IndieProMix after wanting to be able to give the same level of quality production to indie bands that they had given to big name bands. A short list of mixing credits include Michael Jackson, Madonna, Hole, Blink 182, L7, New Radicals, Paul McCartney, Sublime, Bruce Springsteen, Robben Ford, BB King and many others, and their mastering credits to name a few are Aerosmith, Motley Crue, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as Shreck 3 The Movie. The group boasts Gold and Platinum albums, as well as a Grammy.

Phil has been playing guitar since he watched Tony Iommi lay down some dark, and dirty riffs on his Gibson SG, under Ozzy's vocals, and with the rhythm section of Geezer Butler pounding the shit out of the bass, and Bill Ward slamming skins. He is influenced by Tony, and Ted Nugent to name a few. Growing up in Los Angeles Phil was influenced by a lot of local guitarists, and the local music scene. Phil plays a Jackson guitar, with Marshall and Egnater amps, with Boss effects and Ernie Ball strings.

Evan has been playing the drums since seeing Black Sabbath's Bill Ward laying down thunderous beats, with a swing to it, and the greatest fills a drummer could play. Influenced by John Bonham, and Ian Paice of Deep Purple, as well as Cozy Powell, Tommy Aldridge, Carl Palmer, Neil Peart, and Buddy Rich. Evan is also influenced by Carmine Appice, with whom he studied drums. Evan plays Pearl Pro DLX drums, Paiste 2002 cymbals, Evans G2 coated tom skins, EMAD G2 kik skins, REMO Ambassador coated on the snare, DW 7000 double bass drum pedals, and Ludwig Speed King pedal. He also plays Roland V Drums, Roland 550 amp, DW 7000 double kik pedal, and Ludwig Speed King pedal. Evan uses Vic Firth American Rocker drum sticks.

Jeff has been playing the bass, and guitars, and singing since getting turned on to The Beatles, The Stones, and Zeppelin. He has an extensive collection of acoustic guitars (Fender, Yamaha), electric guitars (Gibson, Fender), bass guitars (Brawley, Fender, Rickenbacker), and amps Fender, Ampeg). One of his passions is recording, and he's always ready for a good party and any excuse to jam with his friends, and many bands he plays, and has played with.

Phil, Evan, and Jeff have recorded Carpe Diem as a labor of love, and can't wait to share it, and hopefully rock your asses off. It took 18 months to record and mix, and finish, and there were many up and downs, occasional set backs, and much luck, love, passion and joy.

Thanks to our friends, family and supporters for being patient with us as we crafted this CD. We appreciate it more than we can say. Now hopefully you will enjoy what we did.
