A BRONX TALE...
It's 1957, Tony Acaron and his buddies are singing on the corner of 138th St. & Cypress Ave. in the Bronx. They were listening to the Alan Freed Show on WINS Radio in NYC. "We used to sing any tune by Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers" says Tony: "We had terrific harmony. We could sing anything we heard on the radio or on the jukebox". In 1962 we recorded "Code Of Love" on Paul Winley's "Derrick" label. As you all know Paul Winley produced the classic recordings by the Paragons and the Jesters. We made in person appearances at The famous "Apollo" theater in Harlem and The Jazz Corner Of The World "BIRDLAND" in NYC. But! No one could beat us acappella.
It is now the year 2005, and we decided to make a kick-ass Acappella album. Michael Cuomo, Warren Tesoro, Jerry Pilgrim, Roy Campbell, and Carlos Rampolla. All from New York City. These gentlemen are and have sang with the Five Discs,The Casinos, Norman Fox & the RobRoys & The Excellents. Tony has handpicked some of the best singers in New York. The new "Tribunes are performing at The Richard Nader's Doo-wop shows on WCBS-FM's DooWop Shop, UGHA. Lead East, the Harwin Theater in NJ, the Molloy College Acappella Shows, Vinny's Doowop Italian Restaurant in Brooklyn, the Living Arts Theater in Phila, the New England DooWop Society.
The new CD is new and exciting, filled with favorite songs heard on favorite radio shows of the 50's and '60s like the "Alan Fredricks Night Train Show", The Times Square Record shop radio with Swingin' Slim. Slim had the first oldies collectors store for collectors located right on Times Square in the subway station. These are some of the tunes that were on Slim's collectors wall of rare records and you can hear them as they were sung acappella in brilliant dolby digital sound. Produced by the Tribunes at Smooth T studios this CD will show off your Hi-Fi Stereo set with amazing clarity. Be sure to visit the Tribunes website for concert dates and a brief history of the musical '50's in NYC.

I'm a record collector who used to frequent all the great records shops in New York. I'm now living in Phoenix.I miss this sound. This is just what I was hoping for. Nice job gentlemen! Your harmonies are right on the money. I wish my old group from Brooklyn sounded like this. Excellent material fellas.
