TRIDON is brutally honest hard rock that lashes out against today’s selfish, narcissistic pop culture. With edgy, roughshod guitar licks, thundering bass and drums, and arena- rock attitude complete with shout-along choruses, similar sounds could be found in Shinedown, Nickelback, and Skid Row. Influences include everything from metal staples such as Iron Maiden, Alice in Chains, and Tool to the technical skills of Dreamtheater, and the high energy of arena rock acts like Kiss and Bon Jovi.
Lead singer Rick Fredrick and Bass Guitarist Jonny Stone have been honing their musical talents together since 2002. Frankie Sortelli joined the scene in December of 2005 and the trio became TRIDON in May 2006 with the addition of drummer Gregg Ferguson. Through hard work and a variety of shows from small local bars to the American Cancer Society Walk for Life benefit concert to opening for National bands such as Flyleaf and Tesla, TRIDON has developed a devout following of bar staff and a slowly growing local and regional fan base.
Rick Fredrick has been singing in the shower since he was a kid. With his own version of air guitar, Rick used to run around the house “playing” flyswatters. Rick has always been a natural front man who loves to play to the screaming hordes. His visionary song writing and solid rhythm guitar is the driving force behind TRIDON.
Jonny Stone, Government agent by day, mad rock and roll scientist by night, has been hammering out Cat Scratch Fever to pay the cable bill for the last 15 years. This Jeckle and Hyde has had enough of the bar band scene and has partnered with Fredrick to develop the vision of world domination they have shared since they met 5 years ago.
Frankie Sortelli came next with pizza delivery skills and his eye fixed on fame and fortune. With his rock star attitude and mad guitar skills, Sortelli is determined to live up to the likes of his guitar idols in bands such as Queensryche and Dreamtheater.
Gregg Ferguson, aka Fergie, the God of Thunder completed the band’s lineup. TRIDON had to relocate to a bigger rehearsal space just to accommodate Ferguson’s immense drum kit. Paired with his boundless energy and precision, the results are deafening.
With the independent release of the debut album State of Mind, TRIDON is poised to make its mark upon rock and roll by spearheading the resurgence of guitar hero showmanship and high energy entertainment. With their sense of professionalism and their good humored, down to earth personalities, TRIDON will stop at nothing to spread their music to every corner of the world and is determined to give their all at every show.
