Album Notes

Brazilian popular music, spiced with a breeze of jazz, could be a description for the music of Trio Cupuaçu.
The three musicians, living in Berlin, Germany, know very well how to give the “Música Popular Brasileira” their own, authentic sound. This can be heard on their CD “Trio Cupuaçu“.
Each one of them brings in his own musical experience. First there are original interpretations of the classical Brazilian repertoire (compositions by Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Djavan, Lenine, João Bosco etc), clever arrangements for acoustic guitar, voice, flute, saxophone and percussion. Groovy and light. They add original compositions in the style of bossa nova, samba and other Brazilian grooves to the repertoire: words and music, mainly in portuguese, that give a unique profile to the trio. In 2003, they released their first CD “Trio Cupuaçu” with nine original compositions and three traditional songs by A.Valente, Djavan and Gordurinha.
The unique blend of Indian, European and African cultures creates a music that is full of sensuality and happiness and puts every audience in a sunny mood.
Trio Cupuaçu was a prize winner of the “Berlin Latin Award” in 2005.
Trio Cupuaçu is: Hans Limburg, voice, acoustic nylon string guitar; Thomas Walter Maria, saxophones, flute, clarinet and Volker Conrath, percussion.
