"Pet Pals" started as a way to introduce children to classical music for piano. A few days before I was to play the recital, my 17-year old cat, Mazeppa became ill and passed into her tenth life. So I decided to extend the program to 17 pieces and share it with animal and music lovers everywhere.
Thanks for listening!

I love the choices of music. I saw the review from Elizabeth and made sure to order 3 so I could keep one for myself! It's playing right now. Kids will love it but so will grown-ups.

Utterly charming and fun for all ages

I bought two CDs thinking of making gift to children but I ended up sending them to my 86 year old mother and a close friend from high school. "You are there" at the farm or the zoo - it doesn't get better than this. Inspired choices of composers, exceptional execution. Bet you can't buy just one!

A fun, exciting and moving array of music about favorite animals.
author: Gary Stucka
People unfamiliar with classical piano compostions should "just get over it" and buy this CD. Pet Pals is a menagerie of composers' homages to animals that is expertly perfomed by Shirley Trissell. Nearly all periods of compostion are explored and even the music of the most "serious" composers is accessible to all listeners regardless of their classical music background. Fun and also spiritual, one can merely sit back and imagine the pets as described in tone. As much fun as I had listening to Kitten on the Keys or Le Coucou, I was also deeply touched by Fred Goes to Heaven. This CD is a must for anyone who has loved a pet!
