Album Notes

The Trist is composed of three players who've known and performed with each other for over 25 years. During that time each has developed a style of musicianship that lends itself to an adult contemporary mix that can be called "Clean Rock". Not quite unplugged - it is a style of music appropriate to accompany a relaxing cup of coffee or al fresco patio dining.

This trio produces all-original songs that range from light rock story telling to ballads to blues. Songs with a punch and an easy hook to catch your ear. From corporate events to coffee house sets, The Trist is your choice for adult contemporary rock - with energy!

Rick Watson - Godin Acoustic/Electric Guitar
Rick is an accomplished player & vocalist and active member of the local music community. A former manager of the Northern California Songwriters Association, his talent is a major influence on the sound and direction of the band. Rick's guitar talents are featured as the main accompaniment to his vocals, and his lyrical talents create a rich tapestry drawn from life experience and imagination.

Chuck O'Bear - Drums
Chuck has been an active member of many groups as both a regular and guest player. Chuck's talents are varied as he shares a passion for music as a drummer and songwriter as well as thespian aspirations. Comfortable with many styles of music, Chuck is a solid contributor to both the creative and performance aspects of the band. A true professional. As an actor, Chuck has appeared in many local productions and even has a big screen appearance in that 90s classic film: Rocky & Bullwinkle.

Pat Thompson - Bass Guitar
Pat is a guitar player at heart, but is enjoying the bass in this project. A singer and songwriter for nearly 30 years he and Rick have developed a synergy that lends itself to the tightness and dynamics of the band. His playing style helps to develop the syncopation, vocal harmony and colorful undertones and richness of the group.

Clean understandable and creative light rock

I've heard this CD several times now and I keep changing which song is my favorite. On first listen, I liked the haunting Life of a Woman (Track 2), but depending on my mood I really enjoyed Solitaire (Track 9). My wife likes country music and she appreciated Eileen (Track 3) and Forever (Track 13). There is certainly something here for everyone. The CD sounds great sonically and the harmonies and crystal clear vocals are a treat. Simon & Garfunkle meets the Eagles - but in the New Millennium.
