Bubbling beauty!

They say a watched pot never boils. Well, I've watched Tom Root ever since I met him while he was a classmate in high school in Atlanta in the 70's, and I witnessed him acquiring a multitude of musical skills from various teachers, and baby, this pot is definitely boiling! A lot of intelligent writing and performances from Tom went into this (on some very fine instruments and with excellent production values). This may be a first CD, but it is of the highest quality--not one bad egg in the pot! A mighty fine musical repast!

Pretty Cool!

Very unique sound. When I heard this CD I immediately thought of the first time I heard Jack Johnson's stuff. I knew he was going to be popular, just as I believe Tom Root will. This is just too good for it not to become a favorite.

Brilliant writing, recording and musicianship. Superb intro to a great talent

The first time I heard this I knew I was onto something special. There are a lot of singer-writers out there but in Whirlwind of Leaves Tom Root has shown us heartfelt, imaginative, wide-ranging lyrics coupled with wonderful melodies, and complex but immediately accessible,catchy arrangements. His mastery of his many instruments is amazing; fine soulful voice and the recording engineering and quality is first rate. Tremendous first effort from this new, superbly talented musician. I understand he painted the gorgeous CD cover as well!

Best CD I've Purchased In A Long Time!!

I haven't stopped listening to this CD since loading it in my car two weeks ago. Tom Root is, without a doubt, my new favorite independent artist. There's not one dud on this disk. His lyrics are thoughtful and the arrangements are interesting. What a refreshing break from the same old junk that is being shoved down our throats on the radio these days. This guy's going places!!! Buy it - you won't be disappointed.
