Album Notes

The Tropicats started in 1998 with Mark and Jennifer Mireles. They played small shows all around the Houston Texas Area. As Time went on they grew to add 2 more people. Jamie Casco and Kevin Patterson. The original goal of this group was to create innovative music that captured the feeling of the islands and bring it home to people here. The music was not only relaxing to hear but equally relaxing to play. We then had a member change in 2002 to include the talents of: Doug Deforest, Ken reynolds, Allen Huff, Rayvn Dixon, James Marshall, Chuck Payne, and Mark Mireles.

WOW!!! I never heard of these guys before and I have been a parrothead for years. This music is simply fantastic! I really did feel like i was on a tour of the islands listening to all of the different styles. I really like the change of mood in Island Girl. It has that Neo 50's - 60's beach sound that you dont hear anymore. The thing i like about this CD is that there is a little somthing for all island wannabe's!! If you want a jazzy mood its there. If you want a retro beach sound its there. If you want a good island mood with real steel drums... IT's THERE!!!Where are you guys playing next and when are you all coming down to Florida?
