by Trouble Over Tokyo

Epic debut from neurotic self-effacing hero, Toph. Oh......and a stunning voice and vocal arrangements. Think Bjork + Michael Jackson.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
TROUBLE OVER TOKYO is the music made by a boy called Toph.

Toph:
* Doesn’t feel 26
* Likes smiling at strangers
* Is a virgo (sorry)
* Lives and was born in London
* Allows his insecurities to control him
* Is determined not to allow his insecurities to control him

TROUBLE OVER TOKYO is the sound of a boy trying to become a man, without killing the boy.
TROUBLE OVER TOKYO is the storm before the calm.
TROUBLE OVER TOKYO is Fear vs. Courage, and Art vs. Craft.
Toph is Clark Kent. TROUBLE OVER TOKYO is Superman.

When you hear ToT, you hear frustration, fragility, and fierce self-criticism. But you are also witnessing the exorcising of these demons. The negatives are turned to positives, the rights reserved and the wrongs reversed. The elements you are left with are anger, honesty, and above all, hope.

awsome album with more to come.
This is someone to watch. I haven't been this turned on about an artist for a long time. The new material is fantastic. Check out the remixes on myspace.

Amazing Debut for Trouble Over Tokyo
"1000" is nothing short of brilliant. I haven't stopped listening to it since I got my hands on it. From start to finish the album is a solid, debut album. It has become my favorite gift to give friends and every review has come back stellar. I am a self-proclaimed music snob and this CD is top notch! I can't wait to hear how the next album sounds. It's the first notable release of 2006.

Makes me want to jump around and sing along…and I do!
Once you’ve listened to this album there will be no need to explain why it will go down as one of the best releases of the year. This is the album I have been waiting for filled with smooth soulful vocals and brilliantly written lyrics. Trouble Over Tokyo is clearly on it’s way to becoming a household name. The man behind the music is Toph who hails from the UK and despite being a one-man band you cannot simply write him off. His voice is almost like no other that rests very well in the listener’s ear. Though every track on the album could instantly become a hit the two most notable tracks are “Monster” and “The Assembly Line”, which for some reason makes me want to jump around and sing along…and I do! Don’t be surprised to read about Trouble Over Tokyo in the music press as the year goes on as well as other numerous reviews because all attention is well deserved. Granted this is only the first album but I don’t think it will be the last.

FANTASTICO! Love love love! You will LOVE this cd!
This cd is amazing. From start to finish, it captivates you! I think anyone who listens to this cd will feel as if they know him personally. Its so candid and beautiful. Every sound is straight from the heart and will touch any true music fan.
While I love the album as a whole, I have to say my favorite song is New Hero. It just floats through your head, energizing you through the day.
I simply can't wait for the second album to release! Love love love until there is a stronger word. :)

"The Boy" done good!!
I have to be honest and tell you, that without exception, this will be one of the most talked about independent releases of 2006 from a debut artist and I don't want you to be one of the few that will wish you knew what everyone else will be raving about if you fail to heed the seriousness of this charge: PICK UP THIS RELEASE, post haste!...............I'm reluctant to single out favorites in this 10 song, 41 minutes of pure joy. There are dance songs, moving ballads, tunes that are haunting and experimentally intricate and slightly off meter.., all intentional for the mood that Toph wishes to express.....................It seems important to this artist to retain his naivete while exposing a maturity of understanding of his brave new world. I'm proud that someone has the courage of their convictions, especially at the recording age of 25, to write honestly about his world, his fears, his doubts, his loves... and expose it all to the world at large, unabashedly................I highly recommend you listen, honestly and purposely, to this entire release that is as creative musically as it is lyrically and vocally...............BD of EdendustMedia.com

Awesome style
I was a big fan of almost every song on this album. Some of them rock you, some make you want to dance, and others bring about a melancholy mood that you oddly don't want to shake off. Vocals are great, production is simple but effective. There are times when you sense that this was a low-budget production, but that only adds to the honesty and straight-forwardness of the music. Great to listen to as you drift off to sleep. I give it 4 stars... good work.
