Album Notes

Soul m8, TRU22's debut effort is a reflection of the array of sounds that make up today's contemporary music scene. These world class musicians and singers blend styles like pop/r&b/rock/dance/soul/reggae into a coherent form full of great melodies and catchy hooks. With songs like the calypso infected "body & soul", the rock injected
"somethin 2 say", the pop infused "soul m8" or the r&b infiltrated "10 outta 10", TRU22 shows their unique ability to make it all flow together into a mirror-soundscape of today's culture. Lead vocalist Grace Murillo's soulful style mixes perfectly with the band's strong harmonies and skilled musicianship.

This music connects to the listener with songs about the realities of life-and love, all the way to "get up and shake it", and delivers them to you with radio and dance-floor friendly arrangements.

Hailing from Winnipeg, Canada and originally formed in 2002 to accompany vocalist Grace Murillo at her solo
"wonderful" CD release party, Grace and this groove-gang have kept the magic going.

Tru 22's new disc, "Soul m8," is a soul-filled ride from front to end. The songs have heart and are frequently touchingly poetic, in addition to being right groovy. A great new addition to soul!
