This CD is a tribute to all the many solo artists and groups of the 1950's and 60's. Although only some of them were commercially successful, they all deserved fame and fortune. The CD is a compilation of pre-Motown sounds of the early Rhythm and Blues and Doo Wop and Novelties which contains treasures and highly sought after collectables including the original recording of Short Shorts by The Royal Teens which is featured in the Broadway hit Jersey Boys. Produced in 1958, Shorts Shorts became the fastest million selling record at that time due to the airplay it received by the famed disc jockey Alan Freed.
This CD also includes the Pentagons, whose recording "To Be Loved" became a Doo Wop classic and the Four Guys (one of the first inter-racial groups produced in 1953). Also featured is the Laurels' original recording of "Baby Talk", which was later covered by Jan & Dean. There are many more in this package, if you could purchase these recording individually on the collector's market, it would cost you several thousands of dollars.

I got 7 5 star songs and 1 4 star song on this CD. They're so good the price would have been worth it for just 1!
The Four Guys and The Blue Notes are magnificent!
