In 1997, after taking a break from playing in bands for a while Johannes Armentrout (Hansi) started writing acoustic songs inspired by artists like Elliot Smith and Neil Young. He ended up playing around the Bay Area and gaining momentum in the scene. Hansi soon recruited friends Lucas White and Francis Choung to complete a band, they called "Truxton" after a street in Lucas and Francis's home town of Bakersfield CA. What has come of the union is a powerful brand of indie rock that fuses straight forward rock and roll with a touch of country and folk. This record is the first full length CD to be released by this Trio.
Thanks for reviewing this album! You should see it show up on the album page in a few days.
This cd is a must for anyone that likes Flickerstick, Gin Blossoms, etc. The songs retain an indie feel, and the vocals are really great at parts. I love "Headstone" and some of the later tracks on the cd. It has a tendency to drag in places, but not much for sure. Definately worth hearing just so you can recomend to a friend whenever you get into those "Oh you like 'so and so', well check out Truxton!" Read more...
