The band was born during spring 2000 after meeting the mauritian guru ‘’SUNSHINE VIVEK’’. Islands, limpid ocean, curly waves all created ‘’the star and key of the Indian ocean’’ and their tremendous surf beat ! The four secret agents composing the band still rock the crowd with their groovy/reverbin’ tunes…

Star and Key of the Indian Ocean is more than just an unusual name for a band. It's a sound borne of the deep throated rumble of the surf, with all the tribal energy and melody implied. Power, pleasure, and invention conspire with spies and bronze riders of the curl to create a fresh approach to the genre.

Franse surf beat op een Grieks label. Leest u nog even door. Want The Star & Key Of The Ocean is een heerlijk bandje dat met Vintage Soup een puike plaat aflevert. De nuggets op deze plaat zijn net zo surf als authentieke beat. Gitaarsolootjes worden gekatapulteerd op de wijze van Dick Dale en meteen duiken de tweede gitaar en een razenddruk drummertje er bovenop. Echos's van de vroege Who en Count Five galmen heerlijk mee. Alle twaalf liedjes van de plaat, van het knotsgekke 'Camel Stomp' tot het opwindende zelfmedelijden in 'No No No No', zijn even verfrissend. In je zwembroekje tzatziki met een beaujolaitje nuttigen: je moet het eens geprobeerd hebben.
