Album Notes

“Daddy’s Movin’ West” is the debut CD from Tom Sanchez and his new band The Havana Blues Syndicate. As the former guitarist with the Grammy Nominated acid jazzers, LIQIUD SOUL, Tom (also listed as Tommy on many CDs) has appeared on three of their releases and was even penned LIQUID SOUL’s “secret weapon” by Musician Magazine. Apparently, the secret is out.

Traveling from soulful, funky, latin jams to his own brand of spagetti western music (Clint Eastwood would be proud), Sanchez and his blues mafia take us on a musical journey from the melodic guitar hooks in “Mi Casa es su Casa” to the nod to Kenny Burrell/Wes Mongomery on “Blue Cheese”, and even a dash of a New Orleans-esque vibe on “CB’s Blues” all the while keeping a side of black beans, a surfboard, and many incendiary blues licks close by.

Joined by some of Southern California's finest, Tom Sanchez has managed to put together a disc that’ll keep you grooving from beginning to end and anxiously awaiting their encore.
