Tshila's first album, “Sipping from the Nile” has received acclaim from music critics the world over. She has also been recognized as a spokesperson and contributor to youth movements for social reform in Uganda. Tshila cites the part of her life spent in the US as her greatest influence in becoming a musician. It inspired her to want to create a new sound for Uganda’s music that is unique and can be appreciated all over the world.
Khube Atweela by Tshila is a song in Lugisu, a language from Eastern Uganda that literally means “Let’s Be One”. It is an appeal to human beings to stop creating imaginary divisions amongst themselves and acknowledge that we are one and the same and learn to love each other regardless of race, creed, religion or class.
