Making his mark in the alternative rock world with the band Sponge ,Vinnie Dombroski established himself as a truly inspiring song writer.With such Billboard hits as “Plowed”,”Molly”,”Rainin In My House”,”Wax Ecstatic”and “Have You Seen Mary”,he showed that it’s possible for a song writer to touch the listener’s emotion’s as well as impact the recording industry.
Never resting on the accolades that came with the success of the band Sponge, Vinnie collaborated with many notable names in the music business.Chris Degarmo,Gilby Clarke,Mike Inez,Sean Kinney to name a few.His music has been featured in numerous major motion pictures and television programs.He has embraced the challenge that presents itself when writing in different musical styles for different projects.From rock to pop to country or industrial it’s all very believable.A fine example is the band CRUD (which Vinnie is the sole writer).The music has been embraced by T.V. music supervisors too many to mention.You would recognize the songs if you are a fan of CSI or the many MTV or Discovery channel shows or are a fan of video games.The songs from CRUD have surfaced everywhere.
The cd “LONG WALK WITH THE DEVIL”is a group of some of Vinnie’s favorite new original compositions.He is accompanied on the cd by some of Detroit’s finest musicians, who thoughtfully support the songs with crushing blues guitar riffs and soulful keyboard arrangements.For Sponge fan’s this cd picks up where their song “Have You Seen Mary”leaves off and is sure not to disappoint.
