Album Notes

The "Thanks for Listening" EP is Tubanjo's first commercial release.

Tubanjo is a duo featuring tenor guitarist (and banjo player) Kentucky Graham with bass guitarist (and tuba player) Mike Reedy. Tubanjo’s music is an amalgamation of the styles that Graham and Mike have studied and performed over the years, including bluegrass, classical, rock, folk, and jazz.

"Thanks for Listening" consists mostly of original music with a unique sound. The songs have harmonic structure while at the same time featuring the improvisational styling of Kentucky Graham.

Most of the tracks were recorded to sound just as they would in a live performance. There are two tracks, however, that are studio pieces. The first, "Walts" is a tenor guitar ballad with piano accompaniment. The second is a "full band" cover of the the popular classic, "Beyond the Sea," where Mike Reedy and Kentucky Graham play a full range of instruments including tenor guitar, 6 string guitar, banjo, tuba, trombone, and piano. "Beyond the Sea" is the only vocal track on the album.

All recording was done at The Erster Eindruck Studio.

The artwork was designed by Julie Hollyday.
