Album Notes

The Tuesday Suits are a New York band whose mix of pulse pounding enthusiasm, heart on the sleeve lyrics and hard to resist melodies are brought together in a unique blend reminiscent of 80's Post Punk, Britpop and Indie rock.
Singer/guitarist Ryan Gannon left his home in Venice, California for New York City several years before the formation of The Tuesday Suits. He met bass player Greg Krinsky, who had recently moved from Long Island, while the two were working in a downtown restuarant.
In Gainesville, Florida, guitarist Ryan McNeil had been bouncing from band to band and touring the South for years. In March of 2001, he decided to try his luck in New York.
The Tuesday Suits were officially formed in September of 2001 after Greg's brother Keith was asked to complete the lineup on drums.
Two years later, The Tuesday Suits are a fixture of Manhattan's downtown club scene and have become an extremely powerful and exciting live act. With a catalogue of over sixty songs, their passionate live shows are always compelling and the set lists are never repeated.
The Tuesday Suits recorded a self-titled EP in October of 2002 at Dubway Studios in Manhattan. Recorded completely live, the seven songs give a glimpse into what the band is capable of. It is available at several record stores in the city as well as through the band's website (www.TheTuesdaySuits.com) and through the online CD distributor CD Baby. (www.cdbaby.com.)
In August of 2003, the band went into Fork Studios in Tribeca to record a four-song demo that showcases an even more focused and mature Tuesday Suits.
Dynamic, passionate song writing, a distinctive twin guitar sound and powerful rhythm section combined with irresistibly catchy melodies make The Tuesday Suits a band that must be heard.

The self-titled debut from the Tuesday Suits mixes a garage rock formula thick in bouncy guitar riffs, but frontman/guitarist Ryan Gannon switches things up with his gravelly cool vocals. They're more pop than the Strokes, but rock out in the same vein as the Replacements without the sarcasm. Songs like "Wait for It" and "The Hammock Song" churn with '50s pop appeal; "My First Mistake" moves ahead with quick, syncopated percussion for a surf-rock edge. As songwriters, the Tuesday Suits keep it simple while delivering a solid, cheeky style. "You Never Lied" showcases their unshaken soaked-in-punk confidence, which makes for a great first impression. With their dukes up and ready, the Tuesday Suits musically gamble for a new rock revolution of their own. So far, they're winning. — MacKenzie Wilson

Really great, very evocative of 80's indie bands - sort of post-punky but with a fresher sound, cool lyrics, lively beat.. what can I say? Awesome. Can they please come to the UK? Please?
