ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Colin Darby aka "Darbstar" was born in Panorama City, CA in May 1979.The son of a police officer and nephew of Ken Darby(Love me Tender, Wizard of Oz, Porgy and Bess)he had a penchant for bright lights and song at a young age.
Growing up in the Los Angeles area in the 80's, Darby saw the highs and lows of a big city, but was sheltered from most of the worst. His family moved across the desert to New Mexico in the early 90's, a time when hip-hop music was in it's golden age and rappers were becoming ever more present in the music industry. Darby knew what he liked when he heard it.
At age 13 his mother asked him to pick up an instrument. She didn't give him a choice actually. By the Lord's grace he found his gifts(saxophone and singing)and never looked back. He continued his education to complete High School in Albuquerque and College at the University of New Mexico with many musical mentors and influences both in academia and the music he heard.
He joined the co-founded super group Felonious Groove Foundation in 2000 and helped write several tracks for the group's mastermind "Skinnyfat" between 2003-2005.
And here it is. A collection of music made possible by Darb's newfound hope for better relationships and people, a better World and Buggin' Out! Enjoy. These cats ain't seen the best of it yet.
