Dr. Duke Tumatoe
Want to have some fun? Check out Duke Tumatoe.
Duke has been leading his own band and performing steadily for 35 years. His hybrid of blues, elementary to funk, may tug your heartstrings, inflame your libido, make you laugh or move your feet, but it never hits a false note. After 35 years, 17 albums and over 6000 shows, the singer, songwriter, and guitarist's legendary crowd-slaying performances have more gut level honesty and genuine enthusiasm than ever before. Over the years, the native Chicagoan has shared the stage with such notable artists as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bo Diddley, Dr. John, George Thorogood, Buddy Guy, Lonnie Mack, Sam Kinison, Johnny and Edgar Winter, Jeff Healey, Big Daddy Kinsey, John Fogerty, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and many more.

After leaving R.E.O. Speedwagon in 1969, he formed Duke Tumatoe and the All-Star Frogs. The band enjoyed great success and toured for 13 years and released 3 albums. In 1983, looking for a new sound, Duke formed the Power Trio.
Duke and the band are pushing harder all the time.

Duke's discography includes two independent releases (Red Pepper Hot! and Back to Chicago) and two releases with the blues label Blind Pig (Naughty Child and Dukes Up). In 1988, John Fogerty produced I Like My Job, which was released on Warner Brothers Records. He subsequently has released six albums between his own Sweetfinger Music label and J-Bird Records, Dr. Duke (1992), Wild Animals (1994), The Greatest Hits Plus (1996), the all instrumental Picks & Sticks (1997), A Ejukatid Man (1998), and Pompous and Overrated (2000). The latest album scheduled for release this fall will be titled You’ve Got the Problem.
