Album Notes

Tumbao Bravo (formerly Tumbao) is a 5-7 piece Cuban Jazz Group from Michigan, USA. Formed in 2004 by conga player Alberto Nacif and reedman Paul VornHagen, the group has won the 2005 Best Jazz CD at the Detroit Music Awards and in 2006 was nominated for Best Jazz Group by the same entity. An All Star cast completes the roster with Sven Anderson on piano and guitar, Javier Barrios on timbales, Bob Mojica on trumpet and flugelhorn and either John Barron or Jacob Chmara on bass. The group has performed at the Detroit, Ann Arbor, Michigan, Lansing and Sterling Jazz Festivals as well as many dates in jazz clubs in Michigan and Chicago.
