Album Notes

-Kyle Turck-

A prominent fixture on the Minnesota music scene, Kyle Turck has spent the past five years amassing quite an impressive musical resume. Starting off as a founding member of the short-lived rock project Tin Castle, Kyle soon went on to have moderate success with the band Awkward Silence, which was formed out of the remnants of the punk-rock group Rukkus. Awkward Silence quickly became a staple on the local rock scene and would release their first and only EP (Awkward Silence) in the summer of 2006 before the loss of their drummer caused the band to prematurely call it quits.

Kyle then decided to focus on his songwriting and created Acoustic Silence, an entirely acoustic trio of singer/songwriters. The group released their debut album (1939) in the spring of 2007 to critical acclaim and continued to play throughout Minnesota until the band collectively decided at the end of 2007 to go their separate ways. Kyle then went on to front the up-and-coming rock group Canaan and eventually found himself as the lead vocalist for the legendary blues-rock band, The Electric Allmighty.

-Patrick Henz-

A guitar virtuoso with humble beginnings, Patrick Henz has been tearing up the Minnesota music scene for nearly five years. As one of the original members of the punk-rock band Rukkus, Patrick received his start on the rock circuit by hitting the local clubs and releasing a live album (Live! @ The Java Joint) in the summer of 2005. After meeting up with local musician Kyle Turck, Rukkus underwent a few radical changes and the eventual result was the creation of the rock entity known as Awkward Silence.

Once Awkward Silence had run its course after a solid year of non-stop gigging and recording, Patrick continued on with two of the other remaining members to form Acoustic Silence. By immersing himself in his songwriting, Patrick quickly transformed himself from a standard rock guitarist into a multi-talented singer/songwriter. When the trio decided to officially split up at the end of 2007, he decided to create the solo project aptly named the Man-Shaft Experiment and followed that with a brief stint as the lead guitarist for the band Up In Arms.

The two decided to once again join forces in the fall of 2008, this time around putting their musical focus entirely on songwriting. The duo began perfecting their craft by writing non-stop and performing at local coffee shops and acoustic venues in the area, and in the spring of 2009 they decided to hit the studio to record their debut EP, If I Say Yes, which is slated for a worldwide digital release on May 5th, 2009.
