Born in Sacramento, California, Tyler Turk is striving for a change in the Hip-Hop community. Under the stage name T.U.R.K., True Understanding of the Real King, this rapper sets himself apart. Using universal concerns such as poverty, violence, and suicide, T.U.R.K. is fueled for a change in our world.
As a senior in high school, rap fell into his lap while performing in a high school play. Since then, T.U.R.K. has been producing, writing, and recording nonstop. Over the span of two years, T.U.R.K. has written and recorded over fifty songs about the changes he hopes to see in the world. As a dedicated Christian, T.U.R.K believes in keeping his lyrics clean so everyone can listen to his music in hopes to make society a better place. In a style which he calls “Symphonic Hip-Hop,” T.U.R.K. intertwines an array of pianos, violins, and other orchestral instruments into his beats.
In 2010, T.U.R.K won first place in a talent competition in Sacramento and since then, he has been performing for youth groups and homeless shelters. He endeavors to create a world free from hate through the lyrics and sound of his music.
