Album Notes

When listening to new music, we often ease into it, the way we ease into a cold swimming pool, allowing ourselves time, perhaps even a few tries, to become familiar with the newness of it and begin to enjoy the immersion. Those cautionary, toe-dipping tactics are not necessary with Novo, the forthcoming release from TWOFIVESIX. You can dive right in and enjoy it from the first gentle guitar intro to the elevated, kinetic energy of the last track. Although recorded and mixed by Mike Roche at Broadside Studios, Novo feels like live, caged energy. Voice and instruments are expertly balanced and woven together. "Somehow" is wry without being bitter; "No Ordinary Love" is heartfelt and somber without being sad; "High Water" and "Chain Reaction" highlight the intricate skills of the musicians. Singer Randy Hughey's vocals are faultless throughout. Novo is an introspective and pleasurable listen. -- Kimberly Frantz [ Recoilmag.com ]

256 has it all--they're talented musicians & song writers! I can't get the songs out of my head (& there are several on the Novo CD that keep running through my grey matter) & I find myself humming the music at strange times. Totally awesome!
