notes
This is a limited release, two-song single from Two Loons for Tea's upcoming 2nd full-length CD, "Looking for Landmarks."
Two Loons for Tea is Sarah Scott (vocals & songwriting) and Jonathan Kochmer (guitars, effects, songwriting & production), backed by members of King Crimson, Critters Buggin, MC 500 Foot Jesus, Ednaswap and *many* other projects.
Sarah's traffic-stopping vocals have been compared with Bjork, Gwen Stefani, Billie Holiday, Tori Amos and other greats -- but as Tablet Magazine notes, Sarah "avoids the usual female-vocalist pigeonholes by simply transcending all of them."
Jonathan's guitar playing is multilayered, hypnotically lush, sometimes reminiscent of The Edge or Henry Frayne. Using
alternate tunings, guitar synths and sophisticated effects units, his sonic contributions are as frequently textural and orchestral as guitaristic.
We sometimes perform or record as a duo, but are usually backed by a variety of world-class musicians who masterfully help create the complexity and richness we envision for our material.
Although stylistically diverse -- ranging from pop, trip-hop, rock, jazz and drum n' bass -- there is a distinct and consistent essence that is immediately identifiable as "the Two Loons for Tea sound:" sensuous, moody, cinematic, and emotionally compelling. We've been told by many people that once they've heard our full CDs, they become a soundtrack for that time in their life.
