"In This Life" by Tyler Noren
author: Crystal Kay
My favorite song out of all 10 of my favorites on "In This Life" by Tyler Noren is "Fire" as it sets me on fire everytime that I listen to it! Tyler reminds me of Michelle Pheifer in "The Fabulous Baker Boys" and Tori Amos live on stage when Tyler sings and performs "Fire". "Can't Hide" is another favorite and I find Tyler's vulnerability refreshing and uplifting. "Gone" reminds me of the "Frogs" that I needed to walk away from until I met my "Prince"! "Said and Done" reminds me of those moments when we need our closest friends and family members to help us clear our mind and find Hope again. "Stay with Me" reminds me of the wonderfull dreams we have about the one we love! "Everything" reminds me of the moments when we realize that it is time to walk away from an unhealthy relationship with the Hope and ability to find a healthy one! "Ache With No Name" reminds me of the moments when we go through the "dark night of the soul" when we tap in to our deepest pain and hidden secrets before we find hope and health on the other side! "Meant to Be" reminds me of those moments when both hearts know it is meant to be! "Jump" reminds me of the boys who need to LEARN how to be MEN if they want to have relationships with WOMEN! "Free" reminds me of those moments when I am flying in an aircraft. "In This Life" reminds me to live each day to the fullest as if it were our last, teaching us to "Seize the Day" as there are infinate possibilities while living our life on this amazing planet!

I'm 18 years old and i find that todays music is full of negative things that do nothing but badly influence todays youth. When stumbling upon this cd, I instantaneously fell inlove with the song said and done, because I related to it so much, and the song jump came in close second to my favorite. I also Love the song free. The instrumental that is so relaxing and peaceful. Not only is she a brilliant musician, but in reading her bio, I found that she is a fighter, and an overcommer, and obviously a great rolemodel for young people my age, because she's all about dream becomming reality, and she gives me the faith to know if I can dream it, It can become real. I really believe all this artist needs is the right person to hear her, and there would be such a variety of ages who would fall in love with her music and become a part of her fan base. She's got it!

Tyler Noren came up out of the blue as a new artist to explore. Over all the CD sounds a little over produced being that the material is simple and reflective of Tylers changes she has experienced through the years turned to songs. Sophomoric at times but having the potential because of her ability to craft a performance to the song I hear Joan Jett,Nanci Griffth, Carly Simon and Jimmy Buffet influences. "Meant to Be" is the one song where her true style seems to pop through. It has such a positive feel melding perfectly to music. I feel the need to rush off to my local Cantina before the song ends to enjoy a Pina Coloda and take a stroll on a local Southern California Beach. This could actually be a hit for Toni Tenille if she and the Captain got a hold of it or even Anne Murray. "Said and Done" has a melody that is haunting and sad. Susan Cowsill could probably cut this also and make it more accessible. This tells me there are gems on this CD and in this recording artist future once she gains confidence and lets her inner voice free like she did with the piano on the instrumental track "Free". A melancholy piece with hints of Jeff Becks Around the Plynth she says this piece has followed her around through the years. As the closing track it does cause me to open my mind to "Stay" for a repeat listen of the CD. "Can't Hide" that fact. I look forward to her next record. So open up Tyler I'm climbing in... Bob S
