My Bio…My Story
As an aspiring superstar, I decided that this was time to write a book to tell my story in my own words. I usually tell my stories through my music because it is my background. I’ve always known that creating music was my means to breathing. I love it with every breath in my body! I began singing before I could speak. I was two years of age. As a teenager, I began singing professionally. I performed in clubs and school events. After high school, I attended college and studied music production. I’ve always had the music aspect covered so what better topic for a book than my struggle to become that superstar. This project has become a trilogy. I released the first CD, A Matter of Time, after I moved to Manhattan. After a life changing tragedy in Manhattan, I spent three years writing about my struggle to stardom. This book is called A Matter of Tyme: The Book (A Musician’s Manhattan Experience of Love, Tragedy, Determination, and Growth).
I have created a soundtrack that completes the trilogy. It is called, A Matter of Tyme: The Soundtrack. The soundtrack consists of songs that are written to coincide with the book. For example, the chapter that goes along with the single, “Want My Keys”, is about me meeting a Harlem pretty-boy that I fall in love with and he just uses me to no end until I get fed up. Once you hear the song, and read the chapter, it puts you right where I was when I snatched my keys back!”
As an independent artist, I like the fact that I was able to develop this concept and bring it to life. Each song was carefully crafted and recorded as if it was financed by a major label. I wanted to make music that people don’t mind paying for.
