Album Notes

Typewriter's third album offers typically wild and varying styles - managing to hark back to some of Bandola's old mid-eighties antics ( ie. jangling guitars, lonely-on-high vocals, and seductive melodies ) in The Lucy Show - while dipping toes a wee bit deeper into psychedelica and pure harsh sound. There are moments of frustration and anger that previous Typewriter releases only hinted at. The monstrous song ' Camelot In smithereens' features a 2003 Brixton recording of Bandola playing with his old postrock quartet Ausgang ( drums by Shriekback's Martyn Barker, bass guitar by Karl Shale of The Colourfield, and sonic invention by Rob Lord, from Coventry's The Primitives )...so some heavy spacerock leads into ballads, more pop weirdness, and a clutch of knees-up singalong whoopee. A new message indeed.
