Album Notes

Road Trip is a continuation of New Age Soul in the sense that I want 2 be able 2 take the listener somewhere. On New Age Soul there was ochen watch, In Jamaica, and Comet Groove, which could be looked at as going into outer space. The title track Road Trip was meant 2 be a continuation of the song Y U & I or segue between the two CD’s in that the melody was the same yet different introducing you 2 a whole new collection of songs. Road Trip features a poem written by Janine Maryland especially for this project called “A Heart’s Journey”, which coincides with the theme of this CD, many props 2 her. Also on this CD is a good friend of mine saxophonist Walter Robinson of the band Abstract, which I am happy 2 also be a part of. My goal in this project was 2 provide the listener with a backdrop 2 think by, about where we’ve been and where are we are going in life and also to think about the ones we love and care for who have helped us on this road of life. So take the time to go on your own personal road trip. After all half the fun of getting there is the ride.
