Sweet sounds and excellent technique
author: Brain Mud
I am definitely going five starts on this band and this is coming from the critical ear that has the sweet job of hearing and reviewing indpedent rock bands in the Western United States. I got to catch their show in Hollywood just last week. Thousand Yard has a nice balance of four very energetic musicians with excellent stage presence. The synergy between the four allows them to follow the depth of their music. Guitar player Chris Jensen is a force to be reckoned with. Not knowing what to expect, I was blown away by his riffs and superb playing. Tom, the bass guitar player has great animation on the stage and his precision is outstanding. Lead singer Nick is enthused about his vocals and brings with him a type of energy that gets the crowd going. Drummer, Will, seems to be in percussion Nirvana. Rumor has it that he is a man of high academic achievement and drumming started out as a hobby; if so, what else can this guy do? If you haven't seen this band, make sure you check their tour schedule and go see them play. They are up and coming and no doubt they will be the front band for some of the heavy hitters in the near future. Fresh talent, enthusiasm, excellent musical talent and four guys that seem to really enjoy being with each other and playing creates the perfect "recipe" for a band that is definitely going places. Brain Mudd is only a nickname. If I posted my real name, I'd be crucified for my bad reviews and get sent flowers for my good ones. In this business, it is best to be fair when bands are starting out. If they hit it big then it is a whole new game. Hopefully Thousand Yard Stare will be in the game soon.

Getting it right
author: Bobby Rivers
How did they get this sound?! So natural, clear and precise! Has power without being annoying. Good mix. Good material and energy. Not over compressed like some emo works. They really got it right here. Highly recommended cd here. A+

Could it be any better?

This CD is amazing. Really. Death of an Airwave is my personal favorite song on this wreck-chord, and it never misses a beat. Hellz yes.
