Album Notes

We are all about hooks, harmony and humor in the form of 60's music. Heavy on the multi-layered vocal harmonies and that Brian Wilson California sound. Sunshine pop mixed with moments of sheer a'capella fun..

Matt Tyson is a self-taught student of music, production and arranging. With influences ranging from Classical music to 90's rock, bubble gum to prog rock - he tries to bring all of these together to say something new within this seemingly anachronistic 60's music genre.

Certainly, an obvious fan of Brian Wilson, Tyson pay homage in their sun & fun and sometimes introspective songs. Though there are also nods to much 60's pop rock music, public opinion (expressed by many of their fans) has kept them close to the Beach Boys side of things so far.

The pseudo-60's sitcom theme song "Keep An Eye On Gina", lively and energetic much like Gina herself.

The Poignant "Still I Wonder" and "The Unexpected"

The goodtime sun & fun of "Ride With Me", Surf's Up", " Summertime" and "Tell the Teacher I'm Surfin'".

The garage rock bravado of "My Baby Now"

The introspective yet multi-layered vocals of "Sometimes I Need To Be Alone" and "The Calm Song"

The romantic, a'capella beauty of "Moment That We fell"

The Obligatory surf ballad "My Car, My Board and You", harmony laden and tinged with humor

The up-tempo tear-jerker "It Don't Mean Much Now"
