Album Notes

Aki was born in Japan in 1972. He began playing music when he was 5 years old. He studied Piano and Guitar. After several years of playing Guitar in a rock band in Tokyo, he left Japan for India. In the last 10 years Aki has been involved with Sitar and Indian classical music.
Aki was a serious student of Pt Amar Nath Mishra in Varanasi in India for seven years, studied basic knowledge of Indian classical music and technique of Sitar. Recently, he has taken lessons from world renowned Sitarist, Ustad Shujaat Khan.

Aki won 1st prize in a musical competition under the auspices of Utter Pradesh state Government in 1996.
1998, Aki moved to Berlin, Germany, where his career as a professional Sitarist started. His debut concert was on one of the major radio stations in Germany: SFB 4.
Since then Aki has performed throughout Europe, as solo Sitarist and as well as collaborating with Jazz, Classic, Electranics and Arabic musicians. He has also composed music for dance and text theaters in Europe.

Since 2002, Aki lived in Israel for a year, performing at major festivals and venues, working on his new project, which is a compilation of Indian and Arabic music with Western influence.

Year 2003, Aki has made his first tour throughout Japan successfully.

2004, Aki has released his first album BLUE FISH.
