The party don't stop and the music kills, too: awesome grooves, slamming horns, killer hooks, and musicianship to match.

Album Notes

Urban Family Dog combines the raw power of Rock, the funloving flow of Funk, and the creative intelligence of Jazz. If that's not enough for ya, throw in the tightest horn section and freakiest bass player this side of the Mississippi. 3-Finger Charlie is guaranteed to clean out the junk in your trunk.

UFD is nine serious musicians who know how to throw a kick-ass party, a post-millenial incarnation of P-Funk. Screw Pink, 3-Finger Charlie will get your party started right!

I buy "3-Finger Charlie" look for funk music. CD is best quality funk from U.S. now. Like ol skool funkadelic. Nice horn section & memorable melodies. Good purchase.

I've been listening to UFD for oh, 7 years now. They've definately gone thru some changes since the days when we'd all sit around trying to figure out who was going to answer "What kind of music do you play?" this time. But definately a must have CD and ya gotta go to the shows! Oh and umm in my *TOTALLY UNBIASED OPINION* Annie is the best song ever ;)

As the winner of the Urban Family Dog “Name the CD Contest” I would like to take a few minutes to share with you all my review of the CD. I was sick and tired of all the mainstream music that was flooding the airwaves and most assuredly I was tired of paying an arm and a leg at the local record store for music! While searching the sea of music at mp3.com, I was first drawn to the name of the band, I thought it sounded “cool!” My first song was ‘Preparation F’. It made it to my Internet radio station at mp3.com. Immediately I sent the band feedback. Being 33, I guess the grooves, hooks and horns reminded me of my early days of living in Newark, NJ… Bootsy, George Clinton, the Ohio Players, Earth-Wind & Fire…old school ‘p-funk’ stuff. It was that something I was looking for! After hearing 3-Finger Charlie for the 10th time, I must say I am very impressed at what I hear… deep bass grooves, horns, guitars, and vocals, all rolled into one…something very retro is happening! What a great way to relive my early childhood days. This CD is pure music! If you have never purchased a CD from the Internet I would highly suggest that you make plans to purchase this…a must have for your music collection. Be warned however to make sure that you're alone while listening to 3-Finger Charlie…assuredly, will find yourself dancing in your seat, bobbing your head or tapping your toes! I was doing all three! You will also find a slow groove that will make you feel as if your in a night-club with that special someone for that special occasion…track 10! All in all, 3 Finger Charlie is a must have CD! Pure fun and energy.

Superior to the norm.

Advanced and totally a fusion of rock, jazz, and only the best of what can be done with today's music. The band has a good ear for what is done musically these days, and knows how to fly into high gear at just the right time. A leap to the future of Chuck Chastain. The last thing that I remember that he was doing is recovering from the break up of his old band White Crystal. That was about as 80's rock band if there ever was one. Chuck has always been able to exceed the limitations of what is usually expected musically.
