70's Rock Opera
author: Lee Bjornson
AWESOME!!! ...and I HATE that word. But this turly is, if you like the YES / ELP / ELO / Wakeman type of Rock Opera sound. I've had the LP of this since it came out in the late 70s, and practically wore it out. I've pulled it out over the years, enjoyed listening every time, but the sound kept getting worse with every play. I was SO suprised, and happy, to find it now on CD... AND A DVD OF THE LIVE CONCERT, too! The video of the concert is great, considering it was originally shot in 1978; the audio is mainly good, but in a few places you can hear where the tape (yes, things used to be recorded on thin tape) got stretched. If you like the above-named super groups you'll love this themed performance by A440 - it's much like Rick Wakeman's Journey To The Centre Of The Earth. Order both the CD (studio) & DVD (live) for complete enjoyment.
