Album Notes

Next time you step outside.
Next time you look at a person.
Next time life alters itself before your eyes.
Umbrella Minds latest album takes all of these occurrences as if handed a ticket to enter the subtle festival of day to day living. Carnival brings forth the perspective of seeing life high above the Ferris Wheel, rushing at you like a Roller Coaster, and skewed from the Tilt-a-Whirl.
What's a carnival sound like? Expansive Sounds with hints of Electronic Ghosts. An album for people travelling through the carnival of life.

REVIEWS

Uncompromising lo-fi splendor.
author: David Meek
I say when lo-fi splendor comes your way, cherish the moment, reel around the pale fountains, sing these new songs, fall on your can and feel like a god. So nice. My experience with the music of Umbrella Minds began with Zoran giving me his first CD. We have been friends from day one, so when he asked me to do a website for the band I was already on board. Luckily for me his music did not suck. Then the process of liking, followed by repeat listening long after he got his site. Beautiful and catchy, as lapping waves, you got the rhythm, be it sonic crib heaven or player-friendly trailways tune. Then, Carnival comes out; lo-fi doesn't do it justice, unless you already know the superb craft work of Zoran's musicianship; he's mighty particular about the details, issuing myriad notes, drones, echoes, flügel partitas, and perhaps even gamma radiation, in a slew of nostalgic heralds, blissful electric pavannes, and rockers that swarm like a mess of grackles. I can almost hear the record grooves in this music. Thanks, Z.
