Umoverde consists of five all-star inner city Los

Angeles Latinos fusing the sounds of roots, dance hall

reggae with cumbia, Salsa, and African rhythms.

Umoverde was formed in 2004 consisting of veteran

musicians who have played and experienced the Latin music

uprising in the Los Angeles area and the United States in

general. Umoverde displays a well developed original

sound that is pleasantly surprising for such a young and

fresh band.

Umoverde has just finished recording their debut

full length CD titled Rising up, scheduled for release

on August 7th 2006. The CD consists of 13 songs in which

seven songs are in Spanish and six in English, making

Umoverde a bilingual band appealing to both, the Latin and

American crowd.

Umoverde has performed at various venues and clubs

including The House of Blues Hollywood, The Key Club,

Temple Bar in Santa Monica, Elbo Room in San Francisco,

the Belly Up Tavern and Winston’s in San Diego among other

venues. They have performed on the popular cable show

LATV Live featuring Pato from Control Machete.

They also performed live on the Los Angeles radio

station Super Estrella 97.5 FM's morning show, in front

of the legendary Spanish rock group Jaguares (formely

known as Los Caifanes ) where Saul, the lead singer

said, Umoverde is a band that brings freshness to the

scene. The organic, simplistic and original sounds of

Umoverde make you realize that the re-establishment of the

music industry is necessary.” Always attracting the

crowd towards the dance floor, the explosion of energy on

stage is guaranteed to make people move with their fresh

rhythms and psychedelic reggae grooves.

Umoverde is always ready and prepared to spread Smokin’

recording and writing. They will tap into your inner mind,

make your body move and enlighten your soul with lyrics

that provoke social consciousness and self-reflection.
