great fusion

On most of the cds I purchase from CD Baby, the artists go into new realms and areas of sound. This includes Uncle Gut. For the cds I buy, none of it is traditional. The music is always intense. You never know where the artists are headed with the sound. It can be unpredictable-therefore fascinating. Uncle gut is just like this.

Good Music!!!
author: Edgar Franco, Krepuskulum, Brazil
UNCLE GUT is the most original act of the new Baltimore
progressive scene, a power trio that invests in a crazy
experimental heavy fusion, creating strange climates,
breaking all known prog musical boundaries, and reminding us
of the heavy, psychodelic experiments of the Alice Cooper
band of the 70's!

Uncle Gut :: self debut CD “Uncle Gut”
Hide your children, protect your wives, Uncle Gut is coming over for dinner. This group is definitely going to make its presence felt in the progressive rock world. In a community where everyone tries to compare bands to someone else and in a genre where there are so many classifications of progressive music. The unveiling of Uncle Gut prevails as one of the most prolific and original acts to hail from the Baltimore area. Uncle Gut is crafting and forging there own sound. The three members include Mike Pizza on guitars, David Grollman on drums, and Mike Galway on bass. The music is instrumental, there are no hit or miss tracks here just seven ass kicking tunes that are full of energy and fulfilling moments. This is a heavy brew of guitar, bass playing music with churning rhythms and screaming licks. It simply kicks ass. David Grollman on drums is technically in tune with the guitars and together the player’s performance is flawless. Each and every composition sets the mood which is what makes this album a must have to listen to. Our friend, Mike Potter from Orion studio, recorded the album so you know it sounds great.
The only drawback to this album is that they only have seven tracks with a clocking time of only 37 minutes. Hey we want more next time guys!
This music is great for everyone, including families with small children. Just joking people - fans of Djam Karet and Attention Deficit should get a thrill from this album.
Prog4you recommends this album for everyone.
Pog4you.com rates it nine out of ten keyboards.
