Album Notes

The individual members of Underbelly have been in the biz for years and unbeknownst to them have a DuPage County connection. Guitarist Jon Richter and drummer Paul Rzewuski having been jamming together in various bands since the early 80's. In a parallel universe (the next town over) bassist Ted Beranis and guitarist Mike Buric were also united in rock. To complete the mysterious connection of the DuPage triangle Amy Kelly, lead vocals for Underbelly, met Jon & Paul while they were playing a blues show at a local venue. It was a pivotal moment. After being in and out of bands, forming their own and splitting up, Jon & Paul decided to set the wheels in motion to rock again as Underbelly. Amy was brought in to check out material from the collective subconscious of the dynamic duo and to front the new band. As the idea of Underbelly was moving forward, Paul's blues exploits brought him in contact with bassist Ted Beranis. Mike Buric's cunning guitar seemed a perfect match for the new band and thus the convergence of the eclectic musical personas was complete.... Underbelly was formed. After a few years of successful gigging, Underbelly locked themselves in the catacombs of Mike Buric's Chamber Recording Studio and set about composing 14 original tunes. This is a truly collaborative effort as each member of Underbelly has written a song or two on the album. While creating came easy, completing the project took a little more time and effort. The album was 3 years in the making and is a montage of the eclectic style each member of Underbelly possess'. It is a hypnotic paradigm of music and catchy lyrics that groove through melodic landscapes of the musical spectrum. As these grooves ebb & flow, we hope they draw you in, take you places you've never been and leave you wanting more. Enjoy.
