Album Notes

For fans in today’s music scene, it is a rare occurrence when a single band stands out far among the rest and makes a definite impression on all those who behold their performance. Such is the case with Under Falling Skies, or “UFS” as they are known to fans of the Western Mass music scene. UFS generates a feeling in its audience which can only be described as awe. No one who observes their performance can deny the power, complexity, and grace of their music. Beginning in 2002 with a lineup featuring brothers Chad Kuzontkoski (guitar) and Colby Kuzontkoski (drums), Eric Baldwin (guitar/vocals) and Brandon Eckert (bass), Under Falling Skies set to work on achieving a sound that is both original and captivating. The band soon recorded a four song demo which spread through Massachusetts and Connecticut. This would prove to be only a small hint of what UFS could accomplish. After a lineup change that now features Nicki St. James on bass, the band released their first official CD “Stories Untold” in 2005. The songs found in this first release challenge the listener both musically and lyrically. The boldness of the album immediately captivates the listener, refusing to let go of their attention. Throughout the musical experience, the listener is treated to a variety of techniques; all with the constant surge of impressive hooks and harmonies filling each song. Songs such as “Frantic,” “Fine Line,” and “Repentance” paint a picture of humanity conflicted with the forces of faith, betrayal, and a search to find meaning in the trivial struggles we all must endure. Mixing in vocals with equal parts melody and fury, music filled with both hardcore sound and intricacy, UFS defines themselves through what they are not. They are not another generic band trying to get some thrills out of being on stage. They are not a fad, here today and gone tomorrow. Rather, Under Falling Skies is a rarity to behold, a true powerhouse of talent and potential whose journey in the musical realm has only just begun.
Our debut CD was just recently released and has been well received, it is available on CDBABY.COM/underfallingskies and you can download it on iTunes.

Never Better!
author: Kelay
I have been following local music for years now, enjoying the likes of "shoot the dancing bear","fall into reason","shackle","gaiah","Q", etc.. and UFS is the best of the best. Never before has an album been able to tear at my soul, like this one has. This album almost seems to tell a story of heartache, anger, loss, love, finding faith, hope, and friendship all at the same time. UFS will be signed, if a label wants to release a true to god GOOD record (for once)!! I can invision them on radio, television, talk shows, and selling out major venues! I have had the priviledge to see them in concert, and the "Drum Thing" is simply amazing! The band is a MUST SEE, and the album is a MUST HAVE! ....Bottom Line.....

It is rare that I find music I can say I love. I recieved a friends request from these guys on myspace. My first thought was. "Great, another horrible band wanting to be my friend." I decided to check out their page and I was floored. I bought the cd and I love every song. Thanks Under Falling Skies for giving hope to myspace bands. Can't wait to hear your second release!
