Album Notes

Unfinished Wood is currently on hiatus. In the meantime, please enjoy the CD!!

Unfinished Wood has been in the Columbus, Ohio music scene for 3 years. Their guitar-driven trio rock has been heard in Columbus clubs and on Columbus radio.

Here is what Aaron Beck of the Columbus Dispatch wrote about UFW:

"The core of Columbus' Unfinished Wood -- guitarist D. Scott Davis and bassist Tim Baumgardner -- got together in 2002 based on an interest in Kiss, Rush and the Foo Fighters. Drummer Noah MacKenzie completed the trio, which released its self-titled debut in 2003. The full-length follow up -- Is It Just Me? -- is full of classic-
rock riffs and familiar melodies."

Listen 3-times
author: Eric Yavitch

Listen to this CD three times through, you'll be hooked. The tunes are catchy, the riffs clean and memorable. Although hook driven, this record is pure rock, not pop. Old classic rock influences abound. "Trampled" and "Cross the Line" start with mid-70's AOR melodic sounds and then progress into an all out train ride. Early Rush (Fly by Night, 2112 era) came to mind during some of the album, but so did modern bands like STP and the Foo Fighters. Finally, this reviewer can't help but note the Kiss reference in the equipment acknowledgment in the liner notes. Listen 3-times you'll be hooked. Want more proof, listen to Hungry in Here a few times and see if you don't have it in your head all day long.

Catchy hooks make this CD a lot of fun!

The first thing you hear on this CD is a guitar getting plugged into an amp... then the opening riff of "I'll Be Your Best Friend" kicks in. From that point on, you're taken through a fun ride of guitar rock and roll. Whether you're hearing the crunch of "Tell Me," the drama of "Cross The Line," the acoustic guitar of "Breath," or the humor in "(This Is) My Art," you'll know this is something you've been waiting to hear for quite some time.
