The Kelly’s Truck Stop Bop is a rock ‘n’ roll, revue-style stage musical featuring fourteen original songs, with a cast of five, and an on-stage band.
The Buttram brothers, Bob (brains) and Benny (beauty), are all-purpose salesmen working a few rungs below the top tier. Their all-wise secretary Tammy holds the enterprise together while nursing a secret fancy for Bob. She and her shy friend Melody reminisce on their coffee break about past song and dance triumphs. Victor, their jack-of-all-trades mechanic/handyman, colors the office with his down-home world view.
Benny is dispatched on a mission to Kelly’s Truck Stop to procure a toy truck. In his absence, Tammy learns that “Big” Tip Stanton expects payment of a $2500 debt that afternoon. She, Bob, and Victor brainstorm ways to find some quick money, and are interrupted by Benny, back from the truck stop with the news that, for $2500, he has arranged with Mr. Kelly to provide the coming Friday’s entertainment. Everyone is happy until they realize they don’t really have any entertainment. It’s the only missing piece.
Victor hits on the scheme of their performing all the acts themselves, the five of them adopting various guises. Pushing aside his misgivings, Bob agrees to the plan, and calls for auditions. These seem promising—awakening his admiration for Tammy—and Act One ends.
Act Two is the show itself: a series of songs, with cast members sharing emcee duties, and crossing each other “backstage.” All the while, Bob and Tammy’s mutual attraction flowers, Benny and Victor spar over Melody, and somehow they make it to the end.
Sometimes a little audacity—and luck—are all you need.

We did not know what to expect when we went to see this show and it turned out to be great! Clark and Williams are very talented playwrights who know how to entertain people from all walks of life. The songs range from poignant to hilarious and the story is so cleverly written that it makes one wonder how this show is not playing all over the country! A lot of fun that I recommend to anyone of any age.
